A Taste of What You'll Do
We're hiring an Area Sales Manager On Premise for Gallo Wine Sales of New Jersey to lead and inspire a high-performing sales team that brings our wines to life in restaurants, hotels and hospitality venues. You'll coach District Sales Managers, sales reps and merchandisers to drive consistent, profitable growth through thoughtful planning, hands-on leadership and clear accountability. Working cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Service and Accounts Receivable, you'll remove barriers for customers, resolve delivery or credit issues, and ensure an exceptional customer experience from order to shelf.
In this role you'll build and execute territory strategies, set customized goals, and deploy incentive plans that motivate the team to exceed revenue, margin and distribution objectives. You'll be active in the fieldtraining, auditing displays, pitching key accounts, managing POS inventory and developing action plans to correct deficiencies. You'll monitor performance through reports and regular coaching, run weekly team meetings, and develop future leaders through structured mentorship and the Sales LDP program.

What You'll Need
- High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of professional sales experience to include at least two (2) years of Gallo Wholesaler or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of professional sales experience with a Gallo wholesaler or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
- Required to lift and move 45 57 pound cases of product.
- Required to work weekends for special functions/events, when necessary.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
- Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
How You'll Stand Out
- Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of wine sales experience to include at least one year of affiliated distributor experience; OR Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of both retail and on-premise experience as a district manager and/or area manager reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- 2 years of experience as District Sales Manager.
- CSS and/or CSW Certifications

- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
